D&G Inspired

I’m not sure how many times a salary-woman will have the opportunity to wear bright glittering blazer in her life. No matter, an over-the-top statement piece will give your wardrobe flavor. Dolce & Gabbana Fall-Winter 2011/2012's boyish look served justice. After cutting my hair (about 10 inches shorter), I was determined to embrace something new. Posing a fresh style is the current challenge. Ciao~!

Solid Studs & Shannen Doherty

80s style will always have a place in my heart.  I grew up watching 16 Candles, the Breakfast Club, Some Kind of Wonderful, Heathers, and even Mannequin. Something about those layered leopard cardigans, high bright socks, multi layered bracelets -- a true pastiche of style. In the Heathers,Shannen Doherty appears in a bright turquoise blazer. Hands down, a turning point in my style experiments. Glorious.

The Rabbit Ring & Carolina

The first chilling wind that seeps through my window means one thing: a trench coat. Immediately, I think of Burberry's site, Art of the Trench. Herrara does it again. The creamy beige trench has a comfortable high-waist belt and inner silk lining with bright orange "CH" logos that are stitched seamlessly. It's classic fit can make any woman feel regal and refined. The cheerful rings were bought a boutiques near Insadong and Hongdae.

Prime Brights Before Halloween

Halloween is drawing close– the brightly colored makeup, the over the-top wigs, the costumes that'd probably be found at Party City, and the occasional slutty hosiery – is emerging on the streets. Minus the hosiery and nerve-racking high heels (normally what Korean girls wear on a day to day basis), people were getting ready. In contrast, I decided to lay low for the Halloween weekend. After some tea I headed to dinner at Gurosugil. (The trendy horizontal street in Sinsa). My baggy lizard-print pants were the perfect texture and fit for a comfortable evening out.

Clear Cut Contrast

Be still my heart. Some of the rare leggings I catch always appear in the most random places. I picked up these striking black and white leggings from a small store (may I stress again, the tiny store)  in Haeundae, Busan. For all you foreigners like myself, Busan is a hotspot for beaches. Something like a clash of  California sands and the far east coasts of Long Beach (indefinitely much cleaner). These leggings complemented the geometric shape of my blouse and my Marc Jacobs Frog Large Tote I brought from home. Sometimes a big bag is the simple statement you need.

Silver Singapore Sundays

Before my spontaneous trip to Singapore the other week, I saw this Givenchy bag at the duty free store. If it could speak, it would uttered this: You would be dumb to pass on a 40% marked down price tag. Thus, I bought it. There. A simple and chic investment. It was the perfect change for fall.

Patriot Red & Blue

Completely drawn to these deep blue tights. They stared at me from the window that was part of a punk rock store in Hongdae. Rockin' these bright leggings with a leather jacket, fulfilled my need to be a rock star (just for the day).

Color Blocking Fall Tones

I did catch the note: Color blocking is "in". But I couldn't compel myself to wear any super bright colored outfits, since fall arrived. I matched my mom's vintage teal leather pants (which I tailored last month) with an over-sized red sweater. The perfect snug outfit for a day out.

Johnny Depp he says!

Why Johnny Depp? This boho chic inspired outfit is all in due to the great actor. It all started with these bright pants from Dongdaemun. It was my first bold (no pun intended) leap into color. Oddly, it emanates a Korean aesthetic that could be on the verge of tackiness but, is balanced by bold colors. Both silk top and bag are Marc Jacob. The gold oxfords were a discovery in Apkujeong.

A Gray Garbo Lady

A discovery was made. Garbo hat: Slouch hat. (a soft, broad-brimmed hat. It never crossed my mind how many terms a hat can have. If you don't believe me, go here. Why the large hat and pencil skirt? I couldn't resist feeling like one of the women at Ewha University. The all girls school campus gave me flash backs from the Sound of Music. (Might I add) I did no singing on no hill.

Bringing Back that 70s

Truly a one of a kind shirt: vintage seed-bead, with intricate art-deco patterns. I found this stunning piece yesterday at a small shop near Ewha Women's University. (In case you didn't get the note) The upper regions of Seoul defiantly carry more vintage collections. Unfortunately, it's hard to discover these stores because they are always in a tightly niche alley space. Somehow people remember how to get to the same store in the same small alley way. I don't have that talent, but I would remember how to get to this particular vintage shop. Adore~

Singapore Safari Saturdays

Had it been only a month since warm weather? I miss Singapore’s tropical weather already. During a spontaneous trip to Singapore with a co-worker, I realized the followings: never try to grab a cab on Saturday after 11:30, do not get overly priced Chinese food, and never go into Little India during blasting heat of an early afternoon. DO bring red lipstick with you all times.
